That was pretty good - the music went well, the voices were cool, and it was pretty funny. Graphics could probably be neatened up a bit (like making the blood a bit smoother) but overall I liked it.
This was awesome! Slick, sick, and probably the best Flash I have ever seen!
It was pretty daring to choose such controversial subject-matter, but the impact was ruined by the fact that:
a) the movie took longer to load than to play
b) it didn't really go anywhere... if it could be made a bit longer, maybe with cut-scenes to the man's (and kid's) thoughts, it might improve a lot.
c) the blood looked too fake
On the plus side... the music went well, it has potential for development... and you've pissed a load of people off already.
Well, I have to admit that I've never been a great fan of Street Life, but I absolutely love this! Very amusing, well-animated, and a very innovative idea. Cool!
Terrifying... but Brilliant!
This is an amazing movie - chilling, disturbing and extremely engaging. Graphics are frighteningly realistic, and the distorted sounds add to the overall eerie effect. Really draws the viewer into the scene. An absolute work of art. This movie deserves to be #1 in the Portal - in fact, I can't understand why it isn't already.
Wow! That was amazing... I never thought I'd give a 10 to a stick-man movie, but this clip deserves it! The funniest thing I've seen in ages... Animations like this should be on T.V! Keep it up! Can't wait til Part 2!
Pretty Damn Cool!
This is a great movie! It's really short, but well put together with nice drawings and sounds... and it's extremely amusing. I really didn't expect it to be so funny, but when I saw it I laughed out loud, so I think that says it all. Definitely worth watching!
A Judgement of Aesthetics, Not Ethics...
Whilst I reserve certain suspicions about rampant nationalism, they are much outweighed by my intense hatred of bad Flash content. Perhaps I should start by listing a few things that were wrong with this movie. These are purely practical considerations, as I'm sure there are others who are more apt to judge the ethical aspects than myself:
1. This flag does not wave, it pulsates. I found that extremely odd.
2. It is missing three stripes. At no time has the US flag ever had 10 stripes. This is not a question of stylization, since there is nothing to be gained - even from an aesthetic angle - from their absence.
3. The last time the US flag had 42 stars was in the 19th Century. Get with the times! (OK, if anyone wants to point out that it has never officially had 42 I will accept that too... I was just rounding it up for convenience!)
These aspects may seem unduly pedantic, but in a movie where the flag is the prime focus, I think they are important!
Drawing of the Canadian was reasonable, as was the sound, but the whole thing seemed a bit pointless to me. And I'm not saying this to side with the US, I just honestly didn't get the point!
This one got off to (sorry, 'two'...) a bad start because it looked like a joke. The atrocious spelling could have been tolerated on a heavily graphics-based Flash movie, but not on one where the text was its main feature. I'll never figure out how suicide could have the letters 'sucer' in it, but it looked too much like 'sucker' which made me laugh for a start. I can see what the author was trying to do, but it just didn't work. Anyway, I won't kill myself as long as the portal doesn't get filled with too many entries like this... Deal? Please?!
Great movie! I don't usually give high marks to serious stuff, but this one was a cut above the rest and certainly deserves it. Shadowe has done a marvellous job in giving the movie dramatic effect and allowing the viewer to empathise with the characters, whilst avoiding falling into the common traps of melodrama and sanctimoniousness. The music also added to the impact of the clip, as again it was subtle but complimented the animation perfectly. Impressive work!
